Earning Online Without Google AdSense

Colleen Ludgate
Google AdSense is easily the most popular and common means of earning pay-per-click dollars, but its not-so-user-friendly interface (even the new version) can be difficult for some people to navigate. The good news is that Google AdSense doesn't have to be your only option for earning online income. Here are a few alternatives you can choose from, and they don't all involve earning pay-per-click dollars:
Writing articles -
If you have a general sense of the English language, there are several sites online that pay you to write original content for their sites. Here are a few:
  1. Triond accepts previously published material and allows you to submit it to their hosting site, which then sends your article to the appropriate site for publication. You are paid depending on how many page views your article gets; how much depends on the site. While most people don't make a lot of money on Triond, you can make a fair income if you write a substantial amount of good content that is rich in key search words and are active in the Triond community.
  2. Bukisa is much like Triond, but tends to be a little more stringent in their publishing requirements. Your articles are published on site, and allow pay-per-click as well as Google AdSense revenue.
  3. Newsvine is a great place to publish your articles, but they have some strict guidelines, so make sure you read the fine print.
Content submissions -
Many sites ask you to provide content for them, whether it is writing letters, creating templates, or being an advisor, and pay you a set amount to do so. Check online sites like weRlive, Student of Fortune, and Ether for possible options.
Chitika -
Using the same general process as Google AdSense, Chitika has a unique feature that allows ads placed on your page to be relative to its content. Unlike Google AdSense, it also employs ad-filtering and blocking options.
RedGage -
Not unlike Triond or Bukisa, you can earn on RedGage by writing articles, but if writing is not your thing, consider photography. RedGage allows you to upload your photos, which you receive revenue from by page view, and allows you to earn bonuses when people like your photos.
FunAdvice -
FunAdvice is one of very few social networking sites that will actually pay you in US dollars. You offer advice to people's questions and when they like your answer, you receive points that you can later cash out for money. You can also earn Google AdSense dollars by writing How To's for the tutorial section of the site. While FunAdvice holds a no-nonsense point of view when it comes to earning points, it is a fun and interactive way to earn a few extra dollars.
